Waldport OR

We're at the beach. If you haven't been to the Oregon coast, you should. It's one of the most beautiful places anywhere. We lucked out and it quit raining.

This is about 25 miles north of the first picture, and closer to the cloudy weather. See the difference in the sky.

The Yaquina Head Lighthouse, built in 1873. In 1966 it was automated.

More scenic beauty.

Here we are on a Newport Bay pier. Those are sea lions. They are incredibly noisy and territorial. The guy upper left was constantly proclaiming his right to the real estate.

Newport is still a working waterfront. Actual fishing occurs here.



This is the bridge to Alsea, not far from the park where we are staying. I took this at the very instant the light was good, just before more clouds rolled in.

We're in a KOA. There's some sort of group function going on, many people are sitting outside in the cold, watching television and drinking beer. You gotta want to do it.

  1. extremely awesome pictures!!! i love the bridge and one looks really similar to one that i took ;) hit the light just right, I want a full copy of the bridge pic.
