Portlandia

Today we drove in to Portland to walk around and look at stuff. Driving in, it was not looking encouraging for a dry walk, but the rain held off. It was cold and windy. We were wearing jeans and tall socks. I hate jeans, I like shorts.

Wouldn't you like to be a Portland dog and go to this day care? They also offer wholesome food and socialization for your pooch.

Here is Jim at Powell's bookstore. It's a Portland institution. The store covers an entire city block, with multiple floors. If they don't have it, you don't need it.

Tillamook is a local firm. I love this VW van they've cut down to be a Baby Loaf.

A street in Portland.

We had lunch here. I like a simple menu for breakfast; egg, meat, cheese. Everything you need, and nothing you don't.

One of Portland's food trucks. They had a very eclectic menu. I like the name.

Portland has a China Town. We walked through. It was weird, no one was on the street. It was oddly deserted.

This is the train station. It's undergoing a massive renovation. The station has been in continuous use since 1898.

We're leaving in the morning. Our first thought was to head south on I5 to Canyonville. We were going to stay there and drive up to Crater Lake Friday. Unfortunately, it's snowing there and it's in the mid-20s. Even if we wear all of our warm clothing at the same time, we'll freeze. I checked their web cam, and they're totally clouded in. So, we'll do that next year. Instead, we're off to the coast of Oregon. I think we'll meander our way down the coast highway. We're basically loitering until the 18th, when we will be arriving in Pomona, CA.
