Alas alack, this park is not what it used to be. A church has bought the park and is now engaged in turning most of the RV sites into a car parking lot. This is very distressing since it was so convenient for people having work done at Country Coach or Elite RV. We've gotten various stories about what the final product will be, in terms of RV parking availability in the future, and they are all different. My counsel at this point would be to not count on them.
It's such a bummer, there are many churches, but not enough RV parking.
:(
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear about the sad changes at Riverbend. When we stayed there two summers ago, it seemed to be going downhill and might have already been in receivership.
ReplyDeleteThere is a lovely county park in Eugene that you may like: Armitage Park. It even has full hook-ups, wi-fi, and cable.
We are from Corvallis, only about a thirty-minute drive north of you. The Saturday Farmer's Market (9-1) is wonderful--right downtown along the riverfront. Strawberries should be in season and you might find freshly picked morels at the market too. Also lots of great wineries in the area. Hope you take time to have some fun while in the area.
Armitage is a lovely park - we've driven through it. Unfortunately they are FULL for Memorial Day weekend, so we couldn't go there. We're hoping to have some fun here, but so far the demands of the RV are monopolizing our time.
