Today we drove from Tucson to Blythe. We're at the Riviera RV resort. It's not a bad park. We're in C16 which is farther away from the freeway. It's also farther away from the boat ramp and the people with water craft.
Sites are grass. Some leveling will be required. Interior roads are paved. We have 3 bars of Verizon 4G, but it's really slow. Sites have picnic tables. Utilities are mid-site. No data on restrooms or laundry.
If you're coming here from Arizona there is a new off ramp from I10. They moved the off ramp away from the agricultural inspection station. My phone GPS knew about the off ramp and then it didn't. Very aggravating.
There is a Texaco truck plaza at exit 5 on I10. Go there if you're coming from Arizona. If you wait until the Flying J at exit 1, you'll pay twenty cents a gallon more for diesel, and it's a pain to get to.
This is the boat ramp at the RV park. They have a nice inlet so you can launch without fighting the current. The river is moving fast here.
There are some cute permanent residents. They stuck an extra room on this tiny travel trailer.
We found out what the pipeline over the river is for. It's a high pressure gas line.
Here is the pipeline coming up out of the ground.
This is a good overnight. We would come back again. We will not, however, be getting in the river. Some poor young woman died recently after swimming in the Colorado. A brain eating amoeba (Naegleria fowleri) went up her nose and into her skull and killed her. No, I am not making this up. Please make a note of this.
