The Snowbirds Return to Tucson

We're back in Tucson.  I'm sort of questioning the wisdom of doing the drive in five days, it tends to wear a person out.
So far we're attending to the usual settling in processes.  After last year's crime wave of stolen bicycles, we decided to rent a 5x5 storage unit for the mountain bikes.  We don't ride them much here, and not having them in the bed of the truck makes getting the road bikes out so much easier.
At the moment I am on hold with Century Link, listening to their horrible music while I suffer through the interminable wait.  I've had to order the modem twice now, because apparently that's a very difficult order for them to fulfill.  Verizon in this area in really awful, it's a very under served area. Getting DSL is cheaper and faster, and unlimited.  Cat videos for everybody!
Did you read Technomadia's last post?  They're on hiatus due to the number of people who have been putting negative comments on their work.  I don't understand why people are so wretched and mean.  That blog has a lot of thought and effort put into it, and it's beyond me why people have to be trolls.  A pox on them all.
I think today we're going to get the road bikes out and begin, once again, to get back into shape.

Hope you are all well and happy in your respective climates.

  1. 5 days is waaaay too fast. I'm hoping you can slow down and enjoy the journey next time. I know what you mean about the theft. Every time I look at where our generator was I get angry all over again. Feel bad for the Technos - I just don't understand people at all anymore. Relax and have fun.

    1. Today was sublime. The wind is supposed to return next week, but it's so much better than the GPNW.

  3. Strange that Verizon is so bad in Tucson! They are really good most places in the east. I read Technomadia's post and am very sad for them. I never saw anything negative in their blog comments, but I assume they either deleted the nasty ones or are getting them from other channels. I guess whenever you become "big", it brings out the trolls. They have provided SO much incredible, free information over the years I really hope they will not let this keep them down for too long. Hope the good weather holds -- and I envy you getting to road ride in Tucson!

  5. Glad you made it safely to Tucson:) Enjoy the bike riding!

I do feel badly for Chris and Cherie. No one is forcing people to read their blog. So if you don't care for what they say, stop reading!!
