Porch Fire in the RV Park

We went out to run a few errands this afternoon.  We weren't gone for more than 90 minutes.  When we returned we saw two fire engines and a flat bed tow truck in the street in front of the RV park.

Being the gawkers that we are, we of course had to walk over to see what happened.  There were four fire trucks and a battalion chief.  They were ready for anything, I like to see that kind of a response.  Any fire around this much propane and flammable interiors can become very bad very fast.

Somehow, the porch was set on fire.

He'll probably have to have the door replaced and that side of the RV re-skinned.  The awning is toast.

So that's what's happening in our neck of the woods.

  1. Boy, that's scary in an RV park, with such tight quarters.

We never had an opportunity to reach out to you guys while in Seattle. Between family visiting and some business we had to take care of and all that ridiculous traffic, it just wasn't going to happen. I think Seattle traffic is worse than Los Angeles...and that's saying a lot!

    1. I know! The highways really limit what you can do and when. We're getting back in the habit of knowing you need to be off of I90 by about 4 pm or suffer the consequences. Traffic-magedon starts Friday!

  2. Most definitely a scary sight, as you said, with all the propane around in an RV park! Glad all turned out all right.

  3. Yikes! Not the kind of excitement you want to have too close by. Glad it didn't spread to other rigs nearby....

  4. I just found your blog through rvillage.com. We are in the same park as you! We are in the Newmar Ventana 3 down from the fire. I believe you are the couple that my husband and I talked to when you walked over. I remember you were in your biking clothes. Small world!! Will stop in and say hi next time we are out walking.
