Covid-19 is in the House

Welp - the orange wombat got Covid-19.  Apparently he had it (and knew it) before flying off to a fund raiser in New Jersey yesterday wherein he sat in close proximity to rich people. Today it was announced that he had been given a polyclonal  two monoclonal antibody cocktail made by Regeneron that is still in Stage 3 testing.  There is no peer reviewed data on its effectiveness, it's all anecdotal.  It's surprising that if he has a mild case that they'd be bringing out experimental treatments this early in the disease process.

Also of note is that he's being taken to Walter Reed by helicopter.  It's a 33 minute drive, but they're flying him there. Interesting.

There is a rumor on Twitter (your fact based purveyor of half truths and disinformation) that White House officials have been in contact with Speaker Pelosi about continuity of government.  That raises the possibility that the VP has it.  We will stand by to be amazed.  Update to post:  This is not true.

It's interesting that the president of the University of Notre Dame and Mike Lee (R-Utah) who were at the introduction of Amy Coney Barrett in the Rose Garden event have tested positive.  Mike Lee was seen on video hugging people and shaking hands.  Bill Barr was seen wiping his nose and shaking hands.  That's Mike Lee below, not maintaining social distance.

So that's what I know as of 14:36 hours MST. It's MST because AZ does not do daylight savings.

  1. I spent the first half of the day not believing it, thinking he was just trying to get out of the next debate and change the tax fraud and debate bully news cycle. Now I see it’s true. He’s been hoisted on his own patard. The times get ever stranger.

  2. Could this be a game-changer? It's will be difficult to "spin" this...to play it down as no big deal.

  3. Kellyanne Conway is infected and she and Barr where standing very close together and conversing at the Rose Garden event. Biden and Pelosi found out from the news yesterday morning like the rest of us. the Trump camp couldn't be bothered to notify them. and I read that those $250,000 a plate donors who were in close quarters with Trump at the fund raiser are freaking out. will they still support him after learning he knew he was sick or at the very least had been exposed and he blithely exposed them?

  4. Truth is stranger than fiction! Like Ellen, I wonder if this will cost him supporters or donors who see his carelessness at such a critical time. I've heard he'd been tested but didn't have his results yet when he went to the NJ fundraiser -- but still, if he'd been tested, he ought to have been laying low.

  5. The next few days are going to be news crazy and full of lots and lots of speculation. So many things are up in the air.
The conspiracy people are starting to point out that no democrats have been infected. Duh, they were all following the CDC protocols.
