This is a Test

Well, no trip can be complete without a new camera and/or laptop.  This trip it was the laptop.  I love my HP Windows 7 laptop so much that I could not stand the thought of breaking it on the trip.  So I went to Best Buy and got a Dell.  It, of course, has Windows 10.  My decision not to upgrade my HP laptop has been totally confirmed by this purchase.  They’ll have to pry Windows 7 out of my cold, luddite fingers.

So, I have downloaded Picasa and Open Live Writer and am doing the test to see if it all works.  There is still a question about whether Google will let me use Live Writer in Europe, but we won’t know until we get there.

Here are pictures for you. These are photos of the television during the Formula One race in Australia.  These are a testament to the emphasis placed on driver safety.

The first shot is the driver’s car, whose name escapes me, just before he goes airborne and rolls in the air.  You can see his helmet in the middle of the car.

Here is what’s left of the car.  The driver walked away unharmed.

Pretty cool, eh?  Our favorite, Lewis Hamilton, was beaten by our non-favorite, so that was a bummer.

Ok, shipping this up to Blogspot now to see what happens.  Then I have to see if the laptop will connect to my external hard drive.

  1. We really like Windows 10. In fact Jim just upgraded our Dell to it a couple weeks ago. You'll get used to it, just takes a little time.
Can't believe that driver walked away uninjured!

  2. I am always amazed when those drivers walk away from such horrible wrecks - amazed and very happy. I don't mind using Windows 10 now that I've gotten used to it.

  3. I'm hoping that using 10 for a couple of weeks will convince my fingers that it's tolerable. I know it's a better operating system, and the wave of the future, but it's DIFFERENT.

    1. I am with you. I am fine with Windows 8.1 on my tablet/laptop combo by pretty much avoiding the entire "metro" side of the house except when absolutely necessary. I am sure I'll figure out Windows 10 when it's time to purchase my next machine, but I certainly don't plan to upgrade this one. :-)

  4. New technology fun! Windows 10 isn't so bad. Don't know about Live Writer though since I don't use it.
