More Badness

Today was a work day.  Sheets and floors.  Floors take forever because of the dust.  Twice we have caused the vacuum cleaner to over heat and shut down due to dust forming something that looks like what comes off a dryer lint screen that blocks the suction tube.  So I bought a dust mop; first we dust mop the floors, which picks up a lot of debris.  Then we vacuum.  Then we either Bona the laminate or steam the tile.  It's laborious.  Tile is hard on the old feet.

Last ride we saw this.  It's an ocotillo rib fence, it screens some phone boxes.  Three have taken root and are blooming.  If you're lucky you can get an entire fence to leaf out.

This is an art in a cul de sac.  A local artist did a bunch of sand blasted etched PNW inspired glass panels, and this.  It's very pretty.  I'm surprised none of the local vandals have spray painted any of it.

The bought and paid for Supreme Court has ruled that even though the DOJ has admitted Kilmar Abrego Garcia was not here illegally and did not have a criminal record, El Salvador can keep him in their horrible prison.  Apparently once you're kidnapped, you lose your right to Habeas Corpus.

Justice Sotomayor issued a bone-chilling warning: “The implication of the Government's position is that not only noncitizens but also United States citizens could be taken off the streets, forced onto planes, and confined to foreign prisons with no opportunity for redress if judicial review is denied unlawfully before removal. History is no stranger to such lawless regimes, but this Nation's system of laws is designed to prevent, not en-able, their rise.

Trump on Gaza: I think it’s an incredible piece of important real estate. And I think it’s something that we would be involved in…controlling and owning the Gaza Strip would be a good thing… if you move the Palestinians around to different countries, you really have a freedom zone.  He's back on Gaza.  For whom would Gaza become a "freedom zone" if the Palestinians are removed? 

Netanyahu came to the White House.  The out door press conference was moved to the oval office.  During the press part of the meeting, 47 said this.  "I said to [the former hostages], was there any sign of love? You were there. Ten people, it's only 10 but it's pretty representative. Did Hamas show any signs of, like, help or liking you? Did they give you a piece of bread extra? Did they give you a meal on the side? Like what happened in Germany. Like what happened elsewhere. People try and help people that were in unbelievable distress. They said 'No.'" Apparently 47 believes the Nazis were basically good people, as is Hamas.  He really is losing his mind.  You can read more here.

This was a interesting bit from Brian Allen: Trump just slapped a 50% tariff on Lesotho—a country where the average person lives on less than $5 a day. Why? Because we import a few hundred million in diamonds and textiles from them, and they’re too poor to buy anything back. That’s it. We’re hammering one of the poorest nations on Earth like they’re China. You think Lesotho is the reason we lost steel jobs in Ohio? Be serious. This isn’t strategy—it’s punching down for applause from people who can’t find Lesotho on a map. If you’re still calling this “America First,” you’ve lost the plot. This is just cruelty for clout.

The Press Secretary has a new purse, she's very happy with it.  So during this time of lay offs, firings, the crippling of Social Security, the decision to share IRS data with ICE so that undocumented workers who do pay taxes can be more easily hunted down, take a little pleasure in her new purse.
