Hands Off!

Yesterday we got a Covid vaccine.  This time I have not the faintest idea what strain it targeted, or if it was mono-valent or bi-valent.  I guess the gummint feels we don't have a need to know.  If you are in the US and you think you'd like another booster, do not dawdle.  Covid money is being clawed back by HHS, and vaccine clinics in general are being unfunded.  If you're thinking about the Shingles shot, don't dawdle there, either.  If you're on the fence, go google Ramsay Hunt.

Anyway, this one just kicked my butt, and Jim's as well.  Our arm hurt, and I have pain up the right side of my neck.  This morning we were tired, and we both felt heavy.  We went out for a restorative walk in the desert, which did help with the discomfort.

Yesterday it tried to rain.  It's so dry here the water departs the cloud, and then evaporates.  It's called virga.

Right now the sky out to the east is very dark, and the wind is gusting.  Perhaps some rain will hit us.

Today was the Hands Off protest day.  Turn out was good, even in places where it was cold and raining.

I think this was in Utah.  Utah!

The administration has been ordered to return Kilmar Abrego Garcia to the US.  They are saying that they can't do this because he's in El Salvador's custody.  This is paper work, this is bull shit.  Send a plane, tell them you're on the way, and get that man out of there.  They've already admitted that his expulsion was a mistake.  He's lucky he has a family here and they're vocal.  I don't have much hope for the gay barber who was sent there because he had soccer tattoos. Article is here.

I love this meme.  I hope he sees it.

That's it, that's all I have to say.

  1. Little Bellingham had 4,000 show up to march their little signs around. Folks are tired, clearly. Anyway, the desert looks deserty! Time to pack it in?

  3. I protested. In 2 locations a few miles north of DC. Good crowds, great honking support from drivers. Felt good. But will it make a difference? The pessimist in me says not enough. I also noted that the crowds in both places were heavily female and heavily older. Younger people there tended to be female. Interesting, no? I just did not see young, under 50, male faces.

  4. I'm glad to see people are turning out. I wonder how well the protests were covered by mainstream media since they have ignored protests in the recent past.

  5. I bet IQ45 won't be boasting about the crowd size of the protests. It's wonderful to see, and though I think it will have limited impact, I suspect some Republican politicians may start to take notice.
Hope you're both feeling better today.

  6. That meme is an insult to leather daddies everywhere! LOL

I would have gone to the protest in London if I'd known it was happening! I didn't learn about it until afterwards. Sorry about the shot side-effects, but better than Covid!

  7. I hope you get some rain soon.
Protest rallies are a good sign. Perhaps there will be more as reality hits.

  8. Turnout was great in NYC too! I noticed the demographic skewed older at this protest. I wondered if the targeting of students is having an effect.
