The Terrible Outcome

Like all of you, I am distraught.  We marinated in NPR on the road today, the hosts were analyzing what happened.  There were surprising shifts in voting patterns; Latinos, high school educated white guys, and some Black men shifted to the orange intestine.  Later analysis pointed out that orange had been on several bro dominated podcasts, courting young males.  He appeared on a stage with several imams, which encouraged Muslims to vote for him.  I can not fathom this at all, he's going to deport immigrants, he's already banned Muslims in his previous administration.  He's already said he won't accept Palestinian refugees and told Netanyahu to "finish the job."  How do people fall for this?  Women over 65 broke for Harris, we remember the before times.

What is scaring me to death is if they actually cut Social Security and Medicare.  If they do, we're screwed.  Also what scares me is Elon Musk saying he's going to take three trillion dollars out of the budget, which will crash the economy, drive up prices for everyone (especially housing) and for two years things will be desperately bad.  RFKJr wants to get rid of vaccines, all of them.  Polio still exists in this world, finding an iron lung is virtually impossible, the manufacturers went out of business after the Salk vaccine.  Hey!  Bring back tetanus, whooping cough, all of it!  Good times.  It's still not known who will control the House, I really hope it's not the pubtards.

If Elon manages to crash the economy in the first two years, I wonder if the mid-terms could do some correction on the House and Senate.

This is what I wrote after Hilary lost.  It's still true.

Well.  It feels like all of the air has been sucked out of the room.  I can not believe that man won.  I can't believe America hates women so much that they chose him over her.
Even if he's only a one term president, he's going to do some damage.  Ryan is already working on defunding the ACA.  The war on women is about to heat up again.  It will not surprise me if some forms of birth control are outlawed on his watch.
I am very, very angry at my fellow Americans who chose him.  It seemed like we were a better nation than this, but I was wrong.

Stout heart, dear ones.

    1. I suspect many who can leave, will... they see what's coming and if they have the means and Targets on their Backs, it's probably necessary for them to. He will be on the Revenge and Retribution Tour.

  4. Yesterday I was just beside myself w/grief. Today I am furious. And yes, Trump's appeal was directed to men, young, old, Hispanic, through those podcasts. Unbelievable to me that a block of Hispanic voters would be okay w/him talking about mass deportations but here we are. We must fight back in any way we can, though.

    1. I've read analysis about that and what these hispanic writers are saying is that there is just as much racism toward hispanics among themselves based on what country people come from, that the ones who support Trump consider themselves white and think they are above the people he demonizes and wants to rid the country of, they think it won't touch them. I imagine they will be in for a rude awakening.

  5. It is going to be a turbulent couple of years, if he does half of what he said he would do.

  6. I think that he will wander off to play golf, and he will leave the running of the country to the likes of Elon Musk and JD Vance and RFK, Jr. I honestly believe that our democracy is finished. I hope that I am wrong. I grieve for my grandkids.

  8. Well... Yes, to all of it, well Written my Friend and succinct. Your Words after Hilary are still True, no Evolution in the Right Direction has happened. His ability to Con folks against their own best interests is Legendary, he's a consummate conman and as fucked up as he is, what he knows works, he does quite well and his instincts about people and how to puppeteer some of them is a proven Playbook he hasn't deviated from very much since the 1970's. He didn't invent that Playbook, but it's been used over the Centuries and still works for those who have no moral compass, conscience and insatiable lust for power and greed. Musk, well, that one, as much as he's been admired for his Inventions and Successes, I've always felt he's not right in his Head and something is very Wrong with him... mebbe a form of high functional Autism I suspect, but, whatever... crashing the Economy would benefit Elite, since, they could weather it while everyone else becomes MORE dependent upon them and what they have to Sell. If they're the only Game in Town and hold a Monopoly, well, Blood in the Streets always benefits the Upper Class and those who have lots of Money to throw around. 45/47 isn't the whole problem, he's now surrounded himself with a more strategically designed Team of Sycophants that could be more dangerous than he even is... and far more cunning and Educated. All the Money Fred Trump had couldn't Buy his Son an Education, his criminally leaning instincts might serve him well, but, he's a Moron and an embarrassment. He's got Self-Esteem and Daddy Issues that Haunt him and wants desperately to be Liked, so can too easily be Manipulated with flattery and deception... so it's wise of us to carefully scrutinize his Inner Circle that's infiltrated deeply this time.

  9. It's a horror show, for sure. I want to believe that the middle will prevail one way or another, but I'm scared to death of these John Birch Society and Q-Anon types until recently on the fringes of the Republican party. (Michael Flynn, to name names.)

  10. we own everything outright, our house and the shop and the house my sister lived in and out car and truck se we can manage on our modest combined SS income. as self employed we had to pay in both halves of the tax for SS and Medicare. thank god I'm over the summer of one medical thing after another and appear to be in good shape going forward if they cut Medicare. we won't be able to afford private insurance if it comes to that since they plan on axing the ACA as well. I think there's going to be a lot of rude awakenings when people who voted for him start to suffer the consequences of that vote and by then it will be too late and they can stick their remorse where the sun don't shine. the bastards will deserve everything that's coming to them. unfortunately the rest of us will suffer too. and Musk is intent on making sure we do because he thinks those of us barely getting by need to suffer hardship. he won't of course. those rich bastards never do.

  11. An intelligent Latino man was on MSNBC a couple of days ago and said that many Latino men will not vote for a woman to be president, not now, not ever. I expect that's the same among many Black and white men who also voted for the orange turd. I loved Kamala, she made me proud, she made me smile, she made me hope, but I think the Dems could have won if they'd managed to find a man to nominate. When Hillary lost in '16, I though it was just too soon for a woman president, and I honestly thought things had changed enough in eight years that Kamala would prevail, after all the sh*t that rump has done and said and "promised", and JANUARY 6, for god's sake. But in retrospect, I think the Dems should have put up a male candidate (other than Biden, someone younger than rump). I am gutted.
