Protector of Women

Good morning People of Earth.  We are up and out early for warmer climes tomorrow.  At present it's in the low 30's with fog.  My favorite weather.

I know we're all sick of the election, but this is too amazing to pass up.  A few days ago, in one of his rallies, the orange sicko was heard to say that he would be the protector of women, whether they wanted him to or not.  Think about that, we have no say as to whether we want his protection or not.  So, that was bad enough.  Now we have this from The New Republic.

Trump’s Promise to Young Men: I Am Your Retribution Against Women

He and his MAGA allies are ramping up the sexism and misogyny as part of a closing message that they will restore men to their rightful place—of total control over women

Cognitive dissonance much?

Madam Vice President was on Saturday Night Live last night.  Here is a short clip from the show.  I thought she gave a pretty good performance of being a nice person.

So, we're now up and out to complete the process.

This is the current state of the back of the car.  There's more to be wedged in there.  The shiny things on the right are deflated Space Saver bags.

If you haven't voted, please do.

  1. Trump and Vance and their Project 2025 cohorts hate women and are trying to hamstring and control us and put us back in our place with a dangerous lack of reproductive health care. The misogyny is deep. The power hunger is pathological. If it weren’t for the fact that there are men I dearly love I would hate the world of men. Ugh.

  2. I guess it’s the patriarchy I hate. Not men.

  3. this reminds me of the post I saw on social media...
men: if there were no men who would protect you?
    women: protect us from who?
and Trump wonders why women don't like him.

  4. As a woman of 67, I find it interesting that so many young women can totally dismiss project 2025. They just don't believe it can happen. At my age, I see it happening with my own eyes. I don't understand the complacency.

  5. And the Taliban is “protecting “ women whether they want them to do so or not.

  7. Back in 2016 I told women their husbands did not need to know who they voted for, and it was also perfectly OK to lie if it would save them being hurt. Now it's a democratic party ad, sans the lying bit, which they still are entitled to use. It didn't win that election, but it may well have been used in 2020.

  8. Safe travels.
Loved the SNL piece. Apparently it "mirrored" a similar skit on the Jimmy Fallon show in 2015 featuring IQ45. I bet that was neither as funny or as hearwarming.
I'll be watching the results and hoping for good news.

  9. I think your anonymous commenter hit the nail on the head. It's not cognitive dissonance, really -- Trump's idea of "protection" is, in fact, control.
