Greetings People of the Weird Winter. Given that January and February were so disappointing, we decided to give March in Tucson a chance. Early reviews of the forecast looked promising, but now we have this.

The hazardous conditions could impact the evening commute. Strong winds could cause tree damage.
What the hell?
We spent today in the car. We had to be out of the previous AirBnB by 10:00 am today. We can't check in to the next AirBnB until tomorrow at 3:00. We're in a totally crap airport hotel for the night, I think I'm going to up the sleeping pill dose to get through the night.
This is what we saw today in the grocery store parking lot. I swear to the gods I do not know who these people are or how they got this way.
That's it! That's all I have to say about things.
Something about the our weather should be on crazy man's truck. It's as nutty as he is. And I'm really tired of it. At least we don't get snow here in the Valley. Hope you survived the night.
ReplyDeleteJust curious, based on your experience, what have you seen as a reasonable cost to rent an airbnb for 2 people for 1 month in Tucson. Just curious for future reference. Thanks. Hans
ReplyDeleteWe would be hard pressed to use Airbnb again. They're too expensive, they're never what they're purported to be, all in all no bueno. If you're going to go Feb/March book early, it's high season. Try Zillow, click the rent button, and in filters (I think) type in the words "short term rental, furnished" and it will bring up less expensive properties. Same issues apply, good photography so it's always a crap shoot what you'll get.
DeleteGoodness gracious, someone has a few screws loose. There are issues, in most countries, but I suspect things aren't as dire as that fellow believes they are.
ReplyDeleteYuck, more bad weather for you. We expect snow and cold here and still hate it. I can imagine it's a very unwelcome surprise for those in Arizona.
well, he has a point. humans are the worst animals. what other species engages in war against its own (maybe chimpanzees) or engages in torture (perhaps house cats) or defiles the environment it needs to survive? anyway bummer about the weather and your supposed vacay from winter.

ReplyDeleteI hope the March Airbnb is better than the previous. We've had pretty good luck with them overall, but I agree - more expensive for what you get than just about any other service. So many fees!
