The Opening of Christmas Season

Ho Ho Ho! We spent yesterday installing Christmas because it was too dang windy and cold to do anything outside.  There was even a wind advisory in effect.  Anyway, here is a really cute picture of the bears and the Department 56 village.  Notice how cute the bears are, and how tiny.  Someone stitched the bear parts, turned the parts inside out, and fully articulated the arms, legs and heads.  Cute, Cute, Cute.

That's it!  That's all I've got.

  1. I don't do christmas as I turned away from christianity in my early 20s and religion altogether in my 30s. I rather like the yule that christmas is based on, the return of the sun and light and warmth, but as it turns out, I'm not into ritual for any reason. Far different from my childhood when I loved christmas decorations and outdoor lights. I would sneak into the living room at night after everyone had gone to bed and turn the lights on on the tree and just look at it. I am glad that people do still put up outdoor lights that I get to enjoy without having to do all the work.

  4. I also have started 'installing' Christmas though I'm not putting out any of my antique ornaments this year (the Demon Duo).

  6. Very cute little bear decorations. I haven't gotten my Christmas stuff out yet. Maybe I can do that today. Lord knows, there isn't much else to do.
