It's Always Something - the Agave

As we suspected, the agave producing the flower spike was sick, agave snout weevils would be my first thought.  During the night, the weight of the spike pulled the entire plant over.  We're going to have to get someone in to remove this.

Farewell to thee, old ancient agave!

In happier news, the ocotillo is finally blooming.

  6. I've lost three from those little buggers. Well not little, they are huge grub looking things. Haven't been able to dig mine out however ... they are incredibly heavy plants.
