Smoke, Pat Robertson, Sea Temperatures, and an Indictment

The WAPO reports that New York and D.C. will be seeing some relief from the Canadian wildfire smoke.  It would be better if the fires were being put out, but I have no information about containment.  Apparently the smoke will drift west ward, making other people miserable.  We used to get smoke in Seattle from British Columbia and China, but I don't think it was ever as bad as this.

We're currently under a thunder storm with lightning, thunder and rain.  It's fairly impressive, although the glasses are not rattling in the cabinets.

In a feat of karma, Pat Robertson managed to die during Pride Month.  It's not nice to wish people would die, but I'm really not sorry he did.

Finally, from the department of things that aren't great, we have this.

So, here we are, the day in twitter screen scrapes.

Oh wait, there was just this on WAPO.

  1. Pat Robertson and IQ45, two major grifters. Would it be rude of me to suggest I hope that the latter follows the former soon?
The forest fire situation is dire in so many places. I believe the smoke that New York and other areas are experiencing is drifting from Quebec and Nova Scotia. I think the fires in Nova Scotia are under control in one area, and not in another. Quebec doesn't appear to be releasing as much info.
I won't be surprised if you see smoke again from B.C. as there are several fires there too. We currently have 30 fires burning in Saskatchewan. It's just a horrid year!

  2. Fires gonna burn- it's how they do. Viruses mutating rapidly, methane escaping the ice- but, damn, I am still driving a petrol powered car and carry on as if this is all normal . Hope for change and altering the slope of the downhill slide no longer a thing. Godzilla takes the city!
Death is not the worst thing- Pat got off lightly throughout his ridiculous life of power over his intelligence challenged followers, and his influence in politics. What a Git! He needed to die the day he was born.

  3. so much misogyny in christianity and Pat Robertson was the chief misogynist. women, give them some rights and they're killing their children and practicing witchcraft.

godzilla on the prowl. we are past the point of turning the tide. if humans start instituting real change it will likely take a century for things to start to cool down if that's even possible at this point.

  4. Pat Robertson could always be counted on to make ridiculous statements. I'm tempted to write him off as an idiot, but he probably did it intentionally to get press. Which isn't so stupid, I suppose.

  5. Karma for Pat Robertson indeed, and the Crazies of Christianity's Extremists sure did adore that judgmental and openly biased hate filled Man... good riddance. Hateful people posing as Men and Women of God are the worst. As for the Fires in Canada, Climate Change is showing us daily that it's very Real and yet so many are still Environmentally Unconscious, I don't know what it will take to wake everyone up and start taking Care of Mother Earth to slow down the damage us Human's have caused to the Planet. I don't think it's all reversable at this juncture, but Nature has a way of being resilient, during Pandemic shutdown Globally she showed us that magical ability, so, it gives me some Guarded Optimism.

  6. The wildfire smoke in NYC was insane. Truly apocalyptic. And then a day later, it was as if it never happened. Loved loved loved hearing about the indictments. I am not one who roots for people's demise but in his case I am a mean mother. He deserves it. And we need to be rid of his evil ooze.
