Monsoon Visits the Neighborhood

This was on Nextdoor this morning.  Apparently there was a huge storm which took out power to a large swath of Tucson, which is not so good when it's in the 100s.  Power poles were knocked down which gives you an idea of the wind gusts.

This is near us.

This is in the community next to us.

Monsoon has not been good this year, maybe it will start raining again.

  1. Yeah, we could use more monsoon moisture in Prescott too. Though our neighborhood was fortunate to get a 3" downpour several weeks ago...but nothing since then.

  2. AJ also missed out on rain but glad we didn't lose power. Monsoon has been a big bust this year.

  3. This sounds disturbing. Is it a season, and what is the cause?

  4. I just don't understand how those clouds can get that full of moisture to dump so much rain that it floods. We've received about half the normal amount of rain this year. Still, the desert has greened up nicely.

  5. All the years we lived in Phoenix - I swear, during the monsoon there was almost no rain, much less ugly storms. Looks awful.
