Recently, the weather has been snotty. It tried to rain all day yesterday and failed, finally started late last night. Today it's cloudy.
Well, as we expected, the Alaska summit was a complete and total betrayal of Ukraine, and by extension, Europe.
Instead
of defending Ukraine, Trump rolled out a red carpet for
Putin—literally. Trump saluted him, applauded him, hugged him, smiled
for the cameras, and then whisked him off in the presidential limo for
alone time. Trump looked exactly like a loyal lapdog welcoming his
master.
There is a theory that the purpose of the meet in Alaska was for Putin
to get in the car with 47, which has never happened in the history of
time, so that he could pass him a letter, reminding him that Putin has
something really bad on 47. As it is, the back seat will have to be
searched for listening devices left by the former FSB officer.
The meeting lasted three hours. After Putin and 47 came out, they briefly addressed the press, took zero questions, and then they left. Lunch was cancelled.
Peter Alexander reporting live: "What struck me was the looks on the faces of a lot of the American, delegation here. Caroline Leavitt, Steve Witkoff, who came into the room, then left quickly. Leavitt appeared to be a bit stressed out, anxious. Their eyes were wide, almost ashen at times."
Later, Trump told European leaders peace could come quickly if Zelenskyy ceded all of Donbas to Russia, including areas not under Russian control.
Two weeks ago, Trump was raging about Russia “slaughtering civilians” in Ukraine and expressing—for perhaps the first time—disgust with Putin and Russia. He vowed “very harsh sanctions.” He even threatened to send nuclear subs near Russia and pretended to be a tough NATO ally. The word sanctions was not uttered one time during the three hour meeting.
Even if he wanted to, Zelenskyy can not cede territory, their constitution forbids it. Unlike the US, they are still following their founding documents.
So, that was as bad as we expected.
Images from the meet are interesting. On the left, we have post Alaska summit. On the right, we have post Helsinki. The similarities are striking.
These are before and after the meeting in Alaska.
It has long been known that Putin has body doubles. I have no opinion on the following theory, but there are questions as to whether that was actually Putin.
Look at the ears, they're not the same.
This is an expression I have not seen before.
Anyway, ultimately it doesn't matter if it was Putin, or a body double, the threat was delivered to 47 in the car, and he has now gone back on every sanction or weapon he promised.

The eyebrows look different also.
ReplyDeleteHe looks much too genial to be the real article. Afraid of assassination, of course.
ReplyDeleteHe's always been Putin's Lapdog becoz he owes Dark Money to a LOT of Bad Actors and Russia is just one of them so they Own him. A lot of what he's doing to America is very likely not HIS Idea, he's just not that smart, but, he was manipulated into Power and a Cult Following has developed of Americans who seem to be enamored with a 3rd Rate Reality Show has-been who is an adept Conman, since, that's all he knows how to do, lie, deceive, commit illegal acts consistently. I'd venture to guess more than Putin has the Goods on him. He hasn't been able to get an American Bank to lend to him for a very, very long time due to all the Bank Fraud he committed and how often he never paid his Debts to whoever he Owed. If he can't repay Dark Money Lenders, they have their ways of getting their Money's worth out of him.
ReplyDeleteThe fact that he wouldn't take questions also seems to indicate a double. And would Trump even know if he was meeting with a double? the reminder of whatever is is Putin has on him was necessary because Trump was beginning to think he had some independence. Putin comes out smirking as usual. Saw something today that indicates Trump is backing off from all efforts to end the war. Putin wants all of Ukraine as well as all the other satellite nations Russia used to own. He's made no bones about recreating the USSR.
ReplyDeleteI despair at it all - and am conscious that going over it just distresses me , with precious little I can do.
ReplyDeleteI was concerned that IQ45 might give Alaska back to Putin. Interesting take on whether this was a Putin double. He apparently has Parkinson's and perhaps it is bad enough that he could not attend.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite part was Faux News suggesting that Putin steamrolled IQ45...never thought I'd hear that!
Iq 45. I love that.
DeleteI don't buy the body double theory. That's too far-out for me. I think Trump, for all his kowtowing to Putin, is actually frustrated that Putin won't give an inch. But Zelensky and Ukraine will ultimately suffer. Zelensky should have been there.
