Pendleton to Joseph, OR

Today's drive was a two part-er.  The drive starts with a 12 mile climb.  It was early in the day, and the air was cool.  The engine liked it!  The section on I84 was fast driving.  Once we turned off on to 82 it became a slow drive.  It's a two lane road, through some small towns.  Part of the road is nap of the earth, and one must slow down for the ups and downs.  It's a pretty drive.

We saw a lot of this.  It's extremely agricultural out there.

There's a four mile six percent down grade at Minam.  After that, it's fairly flat.

Here we are in downtown Joseph.  It's an old farming town that has re-invented itself as an art village.  These ladies were sitting outside the visitor's center playing in the afternoon.

There are many jewelry, craft, pottery and yard art stores.

It's fall, the trees are changing.

So, we're here.  The weather forecast is good.  The area is beautiful and we're looking forward to seeing more of it slowly and up close.
