It was really hot today.
It has become almost impossible to buy a decent remote thermometer. Oregon Scientific used to make a really good outdoor sensor with data that would show up in the main unit. For reasons I don't understand, they went out of business, despite having a superior product. Accu-rite is much cheaper, but doesn't work all that well. The exterior humidity is always wrong.
Jim was a little rocky this morning, but currently he's on the rowing machine, so things appear to be looking up.
That's it - I have zippity doo-dah all to say.
I've given up looking at our thermometer because its wrong most of the time. We were running the air the last couple of days but 158 is really pretty warm. The good thing is the shit side effects don't last very long for most people so hopefully Jim is much much better this morning.
ReplyDeleteI imagine the company that made the quality product went out of business because Americans don't buy quality. they want the cheapest whatever they can buy. I read years ago that some companies even quit making their top of the line quality products because no one bought them. we would rather spend far more replacing the cheap version over and over than spend extra for a product that will last a lifetime.
ReplyDeleteyour outdoor sensor must be where the sun hits it directly. it couldn't have been that hot! we have an old fashioned outdoor thermometer. it's round with a needle that moves.
LOL -- is the sensor sitting in direct sun, maybe?
ReplyDeleteSteve, nope, it's in the shade, the sensor is just a piece of junk.
DeleteWow! That's crazy! Definitely time for a new one!
DeleteI can recall seeing many outdoor reader thermometers around, but no idea who made them. The road super had my office before I did and installed one that also told him when it was quitting time. I never mentioned when it ran out of batteries, but he generally noticed and changed it.
ReplyDeleteI think that we have a thermometer some where...it is primitive and just says, Hot or cold.
