This photo was taken this morning. It's taken from the living room, shooting between the mini-blinds so photo quality is pretty low. She appears to be feeding the chick. I can't tell if I'm seeing the open beak or if that is part of the palm tree getting in the way.
I took this at 4:00 today. It's mid-hatch. Notice the shape of the beak. It will elongate over time.
Yay for you and the hummers you show us.
ReplyDeletehow cool you caught the chick in mid-hatch. I had wrens build a nest on my kitchen windowsill one year. there was a big hole in the screen. I was lucky enough to be doing stuff in the kitchen when they all decided to fledge and I got to see each one get up the courage and leap.
ReplyDeleteAnother addition to the family, and good timing with the shot. It will be interesting to watch their development.
ReplyDeleteToo cool! I'm a mini-blind photographer too. The dove however, never leave the nest for more than a few seconds, so I can't get a picture of the eggs.
ReplyDeleteI was hoping you'd get a shot of the hatch!
ReplyDeleteWow! Great shot! Lucky you!
