Geomagnetic storms on the sun produced northern lights in Puget Sound last night. I'm not sure if they were visible to the naked eye. If not, long camera exposures made them visible. It's pretty cool that they were here.
We are still in recovery mode. It's so boring! Last week we did a turn around the park in Bellevue. Center photo is another building going up in downtown. See the white speck below the new building?
It's a sea gull. I caught him yawning.
We're watching the Vuelta a Espana in between trips to do the laundry. It's just a hellacious course today. This is one of the climbs. Look at the switchbacks. It's not the only climb they'll see today. Bike racers are from the very shallow end of the gene pool.
Other than this paltry offering, I have zippity doo-dah all to say.
I cannot make out the bikers, but if they really are on that road they are nutz.
ReplyDeleteUnlike the Tour the Vuelta is all about mountains, great to watch though. A friend has just been cycling in the Dolomites and has done the Passo Dello Stelvia, amongst others, not bad for a 70 year old.
ReplyDeleteI could do it .... DOWNHILL. Otherwise, that's nuts!! What a beautiful park and I love the seagull!! Northern lights? I thought those were only visible in Alaska. VERY cool!! I know what you mean by boring ... I'm just waiting for the hot weather to pass.
ReplyDeleteThose northern lights are amazing!
ReplyDeleteVery cool northern lights. Beautiful pictures.
ReplyDeleteWow, those northern lights are magical. Thanks for sharing them. Enjoy the boredom! I always belatedly wish for it when its past and things are just way to interesting/ anxiety producing. In this case boredom means recovery is progressing as it should, which is good news indeed.
ReplyDeletethat's the only thing I regret about not living up north...seeing the Northern Lights.
ReplyDeleteWow, I hope I get to see the Northern Lights before I die. Gorgeous! What channel are you finding the Vuelta on? I would have loved to have watched some of those climbs but have probably missed my chance. We get a ton of channels on our Firestick, but since I'm new to it, I'm never sure how to find stuff unless I already know its on and what channel.
ReplyDeleteAlaska is one of the most beautiful and amazing place for viewing northern lights it could be the best place. In sept.- Oct month you can see the beautiful northern lights. Plan trips to alaska to see the northern lights
