Ctrl + worked on yahoo mail, but not on Live Writer. I'm using a Dell now and it renders everything slightly differently than the HP did. It's annoying.
Is there any way to make the larger font size stick from post to post. I've been changing it each time I use it. On my old laptops it defaulted to 10 points and stayed that size. It's not a big deal to keep changing it, but it seems like it should remember the font size between uses. Thanks for writing.
I feared my solution was too facile. I can tell you that the original Windows Live Writer had no other settings either, that can be set to hold. Just the same tab and ribbon structure we have here. I happen to still have it on my laptop and confirmed this.
Also, my default setting matches the one I use for email, MS Outlook, set to Calibri at 11 pts.
Wondering if you are using Verdana and a font size of ca. 8 pts for your email? Could there be some link betx the two? Maybe Dave can offer some guidance for us.
Please follow these steps on how to change the font size in Windows Live Writer.
1. Open Writer.
2. Go to the Format tab.
3. Click on the Font option.
4. Select the Font, style or size that you desire in the options and then click on Ok.
If you want to change the font size of the default texts or options that can be seen on the Writer's toolbar or any part of it, I apologize but it's not possible.
I don't know anything about Live Writer, but can you CTRL+ a few times?

DeleteSelect text, click on font size (next to Verdana), choose a larger size, say, 10, 12, 14, all the way to 36.

I meant to add that I just found this on the net as I've no experience of Live Writer. Good luck.
