I make a mean guac, but I add a bit of chopped white onion, fresh Roma tomato, cumin...rather than adding prepared salsa, but I expect the result is similar. Good avocados plus fresh lime juice are the most important ingredients and stand on their own even if nothing else is available! Good on you for hosting; even as an introvert, I can see how that would be a smart thing to do. Glad you are enjoying your new neighborhood!Emilyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15572905521059358017noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3250333507042547703.post-76257840915127389502018-12-13T16:56:43.758-08:002018-12-13T16:56:43.758-08:00Thanks, yes, we have to limit the chips here, also...Thanks, yes, we have to limit the chips here, also.Jim and Gaylehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13982110996137470496noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3250333507042547703.post-12430597137023852432018-12-13T09:00:42.480-08:002018-12-13T09:00:42.480-08:00It's really simple. Float the juice of the other half of the lime on top, this slows down the browning. If not eating immediately, place plastic wrap on top of the guacamole to limit the air exposure.
I swear I could eat my weight in guacamole, salsa and chips, which is why we can't have them in the house!Allisonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02475433199308666648noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3250333507042547703.post-65935612236178056032018-12-13T07:44:41.254-08:002018-12-13T07:44:41.254-08:00Once a week happy hour might be a little too often...Once a week happy hour might be a little too often for us, but it's always good to meet new people and get to know your neighbors. Along with exercise, being social is supposedly one of the keys to healthy aging.
I was hoping you were going to give us Jim's guacamole recipe :-)Jim and Gaylehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13982110996137470496noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3250333507042547703.post-6729888254009317692018-12-13T07:30:33.583-08:002018-12-13T07:30:33.583-08:00I only had to watch for skunks when I came home in...I only had to watch for skunks when I came home in the small hours.
