Show Low to Albuquerque

Yesterday we departed Show Low a day early to ensure that we would be parked with the satellite antenna pointed at the southern sky in order to watch today’s F1 race.  Lewis Hamilton suffered a disastrous set back in Monaco two weeks ago.  For some reason the team tactician ordered him to pit while they were racing under caution with EIGHT LAPS TO GO.  He did, and upon leaving pit road he was in third, no longer in the lead.  It was just a crushing defeat to his arch rival.  So we’re hoping he can win the race in Montreal and increase his overall number of points.

Anyway, it rained a lot on the way.  It was a very slow day.

Some of the cloud formations looked like end of days.

An operational definition of misery would be motorcycle touring in this.

New Mexico is a beautiful state when it’s not raining.

The fields of yellow flowers were quite nice.

We’re at the Central Albuquerque KOA.  The only thing it has to recommend it is the fact that it’s within walking distance of the RV place that is going to install the engine pre-heat pump that we ordered from Hydro Hot.  After that, we are out of here.

It’s a good thing Microsoft fixed Live Writer.  Blogger is steadfastly refusing to upload any pictures today.  Hopefully they will fix that in the near future.  It’s always something with RVs and computers.

  1. The weather certainly hasn't been the best this spring, for sure. Glad you arrived safely!
