Cactus Blossoms

Another blooming cactus in the park.  Pretty, no?

We spent another afternoon doing route planning to the nation's midsection.  I have to tell you, there is a lot of nothing in North Dakota.  There is so much nothing we are planning to overnight in a Pilot Travel Center.  Never thought I would have that thought!  We haven't traveled in the summer for several years.  It's difficult, competing with all of the vacationers.

  1. I love the cactus blooming...so pretty! Thanks for sharing the photo. No blooms here in Utah except for a few mini ground flowers.

We came across ND last summer. We actually enjoyed it. We took ten days and stopped three times. We stayed in Jamestown, Bismark, and Medora. Look back our blogs for June 2012. I think what we enjoyed was seeing real small town America with very few people. You might really enjoy visiting.

  2. Ahhh, the challenges of route planning. I would love to be more free form but Hans prefers to know where he's going to be well in advance. BUT, planning ahead has gotten us some really nice spots in state parks when the parks were full...so I can't complain too much.

Wishing you luck through the heartland!

  3. How far east are you coming? If you make it close to me we must meet!
